About Us

Catching his first fish at age four, Rob Dunagan formed a love for the water at a very young age. Learning to drive a boat, cast a net, and even bait a hook are some of many memories of his childhood. As Rob grew up, his passion for fishing and the great outdoors grew as well. Rob began fishing competitively in tournaments and when he was in college, his passion brought him great success. Rob won the Southern Kingfish Association’s Angler of the Year award in 2001 and was the runner up in 2000. In addition to his success in tournaments, he has captained fishing shows on ESPN, and was a featured spokesperson for Bass Pro Shop, where he demoed fishing technique and skill.

Rob always credited his success to his father, Bob Dunagan. Whether he was pre-fishing the waters with Rob days before tournaments, or supporting Rob in his endeavors, Bob’s support has been the key to his son’s success.  It is safe to say that some of Rob’s proudest moments have been sharing his wins with his father! In an interview with The Brunswick News, Rob has the following to say about his father: “Dad got me into fishing when I was just two or three years old. We did all kinds of fishing, from trout to king fishing. It’s always been a great family outing for us. Prior to the Biloxi tournament, Bob and I fished a week of practice down there, to find out where the fish really are and be ready for the actual tournament. I couldn’t have done it without the practice.”

If you have met Rob you have seen first hand that his energy and zest for life is contagious. Nothing gives him more joy than to share his love and experiences of the great outdoors with others! This urge to share his experiences with the others grew considerably on February 1, 2010 when Rob lost his father, Captain Bob Dunagan to cancer. On that day, he dedicated himself to carry on his father's legacy by making fishing and the great outdoors more available to special needs children as well as underprivileged children that do not get the luxury of seeing and experiencing the many wonders that Rob and his father experienced together.  This effort is the driving force behind the Captain Bob Foundation!

Response has been incredible and we urge more to participate! After all, service is our rent for living and the reward will far exceed your expectations!
