The following letter was sent to the foundation by Kimberly M. about their experiences at a Captain Bob Foundation event:

"My family enjoyed a fabulous weekend at St. Simon's Island fishing and seeing Georgia wildlife with the Captain Bob Foundation.  My son Andrew has Fragile X Syndrome which manifests itself in ADHD type symptoms; anxiety, hyperactivity, and sensory processing, in addition to other learning disabilities.  But he is very active, loves the outdoors, sports and being on the water.  Captain Rob of the Captain Bob Foundation gave my son and my entire family an experience will we never forget.   Captain Rob was sensitive to the special needs of my son, while providing a unique tour of St. Simon's Island by land and boat. We cruised along dolphins, and hiked Cumberland Island within feet of wild horses.  After a picnic lunch Captain Rob instructed on how to throw a line and a net, and we watched as he pulled in dozens of fish. And then the kids experienced fishing for themselves.  At the end of the day we all enjoyed a shrimp boil with fresh shrimp caught by Captain Rob himself and enjoyed a video slideshow of the day's events.  I was impressed that Rob adapted to my son's needs while simultaneously including his sister, who as the sibling of a special needs child is often overlooked in these type of situations.   Both my children thoroughly enjoyed it and are anxiously awaiting our return trip this year. "
